Here are some more ideas what to write about:
Maybe you could explain to your partners the idea of reducing fine particles by only allowing cars with pollution badges into certain areas. You’ll find some information here, albeit only in German.
If you should like to inform yourselves on the environmental policy of the Obama administration, here are some links.

I just got a mail from Mr Barton, who wrote that most of his students also watched “The Story of Stuff”. So those of you who haven’t watched it yet may want to have a look at it. Then you’ll have a better basis for discussion.
So far this project has run very loosely, and I find we should discuss next Monday how this is supposed to go on, and what results we can draw from it for our work in class. Therefore I would like you to bring in a printout of all your correspondence on Monday. You can decide yourselves what you show me or the others, so there is no pressure to expose any too private details. However, I would like you to see this a chance to show me how well you can communicate in English — a factor that could be quite relevant for your marks, particularly as I haven’t seen much of you yet in this term.

As I won’t be in school until next Monday, please do the following tasks instead. I would advise you to take them seriously because we will be writing a test soon, and it will be about a short story. If you shouldn’t have the text Earth Day anymore, you may contact me via email.
- Describe Man’s creations and their results.
- Compare the style of Earth Day to the beginning of the Genesis. (Which elements from the Bible has Buchwald used to create a humourous effect?)
- Analyse the relationship between Man and God.
Before you start writing, it would be a good idea to look at the paper Types of Assignments. If any questions remain, I would suggest that you use the commentary function on this blog.

You’ll find the video The Story of Stuff here. If you can’t play it with any of the players on your computers, please download VLCPortable and install it on your USB device.
